2001 – Afternoon and evening thunderstorms brought torrential rainfall in the western Chicago Suburbs.  The heaviest rainfall occurred across DuPage, northern Will, and northwest Cook Counties.  4 to 5 inches of rain were seen across those counties.  Wheaton had 2 to 3 feet of standing water on the streets.  Plainfield and Bolingbrook had widespread flooding, with some places flooded for days.
