In honor of the Leap Year and our extra day, here are some statistics from this past February.
Temperatures were for the most part quite warm. We had two record highs that were set as temperatures reached the 60s and 70s numerous times. In Champaign, the highest temperature was 71 on Saturday the 20th. Overall, the temperatures during the afternoons were just over 3 degrees warmer than usual and the nighttime lows were about 4 degrees warmer.
February was actually a fairly snowy month. We saw 6.8″ in Champaign, which is about an inch above normal. As of the end of February, we have seen 12.6″ of snow for the season.
