Woodard wins Athlete of the Week

TOLONO (WCIA) -- Unity cross country runner Erica Woodard is the WCIA 3 Athlete of the Week. The Rockets senior helped lead the team to its third-straight state title over the weekend, winning the Class 1A championship finishing 48 points better than the runner-up. Woodard finished 14th overall individually, her best at state in the career, posting a time of 17:45.26.

NEW YORK (WCIA) -- Marcus Domask showed up when the lights were bright. The Southern Illinois transfer scored a career high 33 points, the most in a Jimmy V Classic game since 2001, leading Illinois to a 98-89 win over Florida Atlantic at Madison Square Garden Tuesday night. Not to be outdone, Terrence Shannon Jr. also put up a career high 33 points, as the two combined to go 25-of-35 shooting from the floor, scoring 66 of the team's 98 points in the marquee win.

CHAMPAIGN (WCIA) -- Tip Reiman is declaring for the NFL Draft. The Illini tight end announced his decision on Tuesday afternoon, after spending the past four years with the Illini. The team captain caught 19 passes for 203 yards and three touchdowns this fall, fourth on the Illini in receiving yards, averaging 10.6 yards per catch.
