Money Smart Week is the last week of April and It’s an opportunity for everyone to increase their financial knowledge.
Money Smart Week is sponsored by the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago and organized by local libraries, credit unions, banks, social service agencies and educational groups. From April 22-29th free, educational events will be held throughout Illinois and the nation.
Knowledge is power. Empower your finances by asking questions and learning strategies to manage your money well. The programs are all free and no one is allowed to sell anything.
There will be community shred events in both Danville and Champaign. This is a chance to shred or destroy any papers with sensitive information like your social security number.
On April 22, in Danville, the MidWest America Credit Union is sponsoring a Community Shred from 9:00 a.m. to noon at 3550 N. Vermilion St.
The next Saturday, April 29, U of I Community Credit Union will have a Shred-a-Palooza on First St., Champaign, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Many of our local libraries are hosting events for children and adults. We will have MSW Kids Read events at the Mahomet, Danville, & Oakwood libraries on Saturday, April 22, 10:00 a.m.
