State Senator and Attorney General candidate (D) Kwame Raoul joins the Morning Show to discuss his plans if elected to the seat and what events he has in the coming weeks.
Kwame raoul is serving as a democratic member of the Illinois senate, representing the 13th district since his appointment to fill the seat vacated by Barack Obama in 2004.
The biggest labor union in Illinois “the AFL-CIO” is backing him. No other candidate was even nominated for the endorsement.
A spokesman says he expects some 300 to 400 thousand union members will vote in this primary — and he thinks this endorsement will have a big impact come march 20th. There are currently eight democrats vying to replace Lisa Madigan, the longest serving attorney general in state history. Erika Harold and Gary Grasso are running on the republican ticket.

Between 2011 and 2015, outside auditors hired by the state treasurer identified more than $550 million held by life insurance companies that should have been paid to grieving families.
