Nadya Mason, U of I Physics Professor joins us for Whys Guys Wednesday to learn about touch screens.
“Why can’t I use my touch screen when I have gloves on?”
-Touch screens are based on grids of switches
-On some screens (ATMs), the switches can be turned on/off by pressing
-On other screens (phones), the switches turn on/off from electrical conduction of your fingers
-This is also how a Thermin works!
