Whys Guys: Meat rainbows

The Morning Show

Nadya Mason, U of I Physics Professor joins us to talk about meat rainbows in Whys Guys!

–          “Meat rainbows” are due to the grooved structure of meat fibers

–          Light bounces off these grooves, producing rainbows

–          Similar “diffraction” effects occur on CDs

–          The meat is perfectly safe to eat!
