What’s Happening: Free Health Fair

Why is this segment timely and/or important to viewers?

The main goal of the event is to promote general wellness among the University of Illinois diverse student populations. The Annual Health Fair has attracted over 80 vendors—including local health/social agencies, like Carle, OSF Healthcare, Christie Clinic, and Planned Parenthood, as well as dentists, chiropractors. Services and information are provided FREE of charge for all attendees. Attendees can enjoy a variety of health programs, displays, and demonstrations, ranging from fitness demos and blood pressure screenings to dance performances and raffle prizes.

1: The annual Health Fair promotes general wellness for the diverse campus community by providing health resources and information, as well as free health screening and demonstrations.

2: University of Illinois students are able to receive credit or extra credit for participating courses by attending and participating in the Health Fair.

3: We have over 80 vendors for this year’s Health Fair which includes different health clinics and social service agencies in the community. Some notable vendors include Carle Foundation Hospital, OSF Healthcare, Christie Clinic, and The Counseling Center.

4: Participants are able to experience different performances throughout the day as well as participate in our raffle. We will be raffling off many gift cards and gift baskets kindly donated to us by local businesses.
