What’s Happening: Farm to table

The Morning Show

Guest: Allie Teagarden, Finance Council Vice President of Junior League of Champaign-Urbana.

The Junior League of Champaign-Urbana (JLCU) is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Our volunteer efforts focus on women and children in our community.

Our Farm-to-Table “Spring Fling” event is a brand-new fundraiser this year. The dinner features an exclusive, three-course dinner with wine at the beautiful Willow Creek Farm in Urbana. Two different protein dishes are featured: chicken piccata and braised beef for guests to enjoy. The event is sponsored by CCMSI, and wine donated by Bluestem Financial Advisors.

Date: April 28, 2017

Time: 6:30-9:30 p.m.

Location: Willow Creek Farm, 1766 County Road 1850, Urbana, IL 61802

Guests will also get to enjoy farm tours and hayrack rides during cocktail hour. A variety of exciting auction packages and a 50/50 raffle drawing will be available to guests looking to further support women, children and families in our community.

A sampling of auction items include:

* A Circus Aerial Arts party for 8 people from Defy Gravity Pole Fitness and Aerial Arts Studio

* 2 tickets to the Joffrey Ballet production of Giselle

* $100 gift card to Nando Milano Italian Restaurant in downtown Champaign

* $100 gift card to local boutique Fira

Funds raised will directly support our programs that support C-U children and families, like Kids in the Kitchen nutrition and physical activity program, Bright Starts kindergarten readiness program, college scholarships, and community grants.
