The Morning Show

CHAMPAIGN–

All Breed Cat Show returns to new location.

The Illini Cat Club announces that their 25th All Breed Cat Show returns to a new location. The Cat Show will be held at the Wyndham Hotel in Urbana due to the National Guard performing drills on that weekend. The show will attract entries from across the U.S. and will take place on Saturday, March 4 and Sunday March 5.

More than 170 cats from around the United States will travel to the Champaign-Urbana area to compete in the show.  Internationally-recognized all breed judges from five states will officiate and make presentations of more than 30 different breeds of cats in the 8-ring show.  Spectators can expect to see the fluffy Persians, massive Maine Coons, sleek Siamese and the unusually coated Cornish Rex.  Local exhibitors are also showing off their entries in the Household Pet competition.

Catsnap and the Champaign County Humane Society will have informational booths.  Vendors will have cat-related items for sale.

The doors are open on Saturday from 10:00 am until 4 pm and on Sunday from 9:00 am until 3 pm. The Wyndham Hotel is located at 1001 W. Killarney Street, just off North Lincoln Avenue in Urbana.

Special features of the show

·         Recognition of Veteran Cats (7 years and old)

·         Periodic cat behavior presentations by Dr. Sally Foote.

·         Substantial raffle – winners need not be present to win.

An admission donation of $5 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under and seniors will be charged. Children under three are free and there is a maximum donation per family of $15. A portion of the proceeds from the show will be donated to Catsnap, Champaign County Humane Society and other feline-oriented organizations.
