Justin Carpenter and Ken Walker with the Sibley Sparkling Shuffle 5k Nightime Glo Run held every July 3rd. This is our 6th annual event.
We host the Sibley Sparkling Shuffle 5k nighttime glow fun run to raise money for local charities benefiting children in the area such as Handles Of Hope, local back pack programs, and even a food backpack program for Paxton children going hungry over the weekends.
Entrants get a free t-shirt with their entry. The entry fee is $20, soon to go up to $25 for late registrations. Entrants can walk, run, jog the route. They can even ride a bike. We encourage runners to wear anything that glows.
We have Sundry Shadows perform 2 free amazing shows where they perform with live fire. Flaming hula hoops, spinning fire, fire breathing.. The works all to some great music. Just bring a lawn chair and watch the show in the park.
We hold this in Sibley Illinois July 3rd. Registration starts at 7:30 pm, the run starts at 9pm. The free shows are before and after the run. We also have a child obstacle course for the 2nd year. Food vendors on site for great food. Simply show up at the Sibley Park, downtown Sibley, can’t miss it.
We have over 3 miles of Xmas lights, props and fun surprises along the 5k route. We even have a house with lighting synced to patriotic music along the run.
You do not have to be there with anyone running in the 5k to enjoy the free shows and great food.
Last year we raised $3000 between sponsor donations and 5k entrants fees, which was divided between Handles of Hope, Gibson City Backpack Program and the Paxton Food Backpack Program.
