The Farm Progress Show is just over three months away and will be back in Illinois this year. And with our new series of programs, Stu Ellis will give you an upfront vantage point…
Good morning to you. I’m Stu Ellis.
It may be raining where you are, but here at Progress City on Decatur’s northeast corner it is a beautiful day. And that is why the Farm Progress Show will be coming here in just 110 more days. August 27th through the 29th are the days for the 66th annual event. We guaranteed Farm Progress good weather and that is one reason they picked Decatur.
And WCIA will keep you up to date every week prior to the show. With the foresight of community and Richland Community college leaders, the Farm Progress Show makes it biennial home right here in your back yard. And there is every reason for you to participate as an attendee, a volunteer, or maybe even as an exhibitor where over 100,000 people will come, including thousands from our global neighbors.
Our reports to you each Thursday morning will highlight news about the Farm Progress show, introduce you to the people who make it happen, let you see how it comes together, and prepare you for this event that will bring one billion dollars worth of agricultural technology for you to touch, feel, inspect, climb on, and consider the opportunity to take it home with you.
In future programs we’ll visit with the host farmers, who have been challenged by getting corn planted for field demonstrations, with show management, and you will learn what you need to know.
Thursday mornings, right here on WCIA3, join me on the Road to Farm Progress. I’m Stu Ellis
