We’re gaining some confidence in the kitchen with cooking coach Adam Wisnewski this morning. Learn his easy-to-make hummus recipe in today’s segment.

Living the Hummus Life


Hummus is delicious, nutritious, healthy and cheap. On top of that it’s simple to make! Try this at home and replace that expensive store-bought version with your own recipe.

Ingredients

1/4 cup tahini

1 can chickpeas, drained but retain the liquid (aquafaba)

2 TBS olive oil (more to top)

1 tsp lemon juice

1 tsp sesame oil

1 or 2 tsp minced garlic, to taste

½ tsp cumin

½ tsp salt

¼ tsp pepper

Paprika to top

Instructions
* In a food processor, blend tahini until smooth.

* Add beans, oil, lemon juice, sesame oil and spices, blend until beans begin breaking down, 2 minutes.

* Continue blending, add aquafaba, if needed, a little at a time until desired thickness is reached.

Serve with bread, crackers, vegetables, as a sandwich spread, as a pasta sauce.

Try different seasonings: replace cumin with dill, oregano, chili powder

Try no oil and all aquafaba

Try yogurt instead of oil and aquafaba
