Kid-Friendly Furniture Picks

The Morning Show

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, every 24 minutes a child is injured from tipped furniture and TVs. New, innovative anchoring products are now available that are not only easy to install, but can also help keep your family safe!

1: Tipping furniture is one of the top hidden safety hazards in homes. The average solid wood dresser chest can weigh up to 150 pounds.

2: New innovative technology is now being utilized by some furniture designers to make it easier to anchor furniture without drilling into your wall.

3: Dressers have also been created that include a drawer interlock safety mechanism. This will allow only one lower drawer to be open at a time and prevents children from using the drawers to climb up.

4: People should also avoid putting items children might want on top of dressers or TV stands. Ask a furniture expert if you need advice on how to properly anchor your furniture!
