This organization helps animals in the area live comfortably. Michael Van, Director of HSD Saves joins us today.
A quick synopsis of the program:
We offer three services: low-cost spay/neuter, TNVR (Trap, Neuter, Vaccinate, and Return), and a soon to be pet food pantry.
We perform door-to-door outreach in underserved communities offering low-cost and sometimes free spay/neuter services. We also assist by providing free pet food, supplies, and educational resources. Our goals are simple: to help people help their pets and to sustain and cherish the human-animal bond.
Our targeted outreach uses grassroot techniques that mimic the Humane Society of the United States’s program “Pets for Life”. This proactive approach enacts social change by informing our community that we are here to help if they are struggling financially to care for their pet.
We firmly believe that everybody should be able to share their love with an animal, no matter their financial income. Our services make that possible.
