Harvest Heritage: Corzine Motorsports

The Morning Show

For some farm families, relief from the pressures of farming may be attending tractor pulls. But for others, it is having trucks or tractors and driving in those competitive events. Such is the case with a Christian County family which has become national champions in that sport. Stu Ellis has our harvest heritage report

Stu Ellis

Craig and Ashley Corzine jointly own a champion pulling tractor with well-known Stonington tractor puller Steve Bollinger who got him started…

Craig

in 2002, was the fist year I actually drove a tractor, and we laugh, it’s a drug and I still give Steve a hard time today. And like this tractor behind us is a partnership with Steve, that Ashley and I do with Steve. And I blame him all the time that its his fault. Its addictive. We do a lot of work for a 13 second ride, but boy is it worth it.

Stu Ellis

In Ashley’s case, her father had been a long time tractor puller

Ashley

He put me in the seat a few times and I was hooked as well and I wasn’t sure I would ever have my own vehicle until Craig and I met several years later.

Stu Ellis

And she says it is a family adventure

Ashley

It is a total family sport. We take our 4 girls with us, everywhere we go. we’ve raised 4 really, really competitive girls. And they sit on the sidelines when we are pulling, and they might cry if we don’t do well, you know, its wonderful.

Stu Ellis

Craig’s competitive nature comes from his father, national farm leader Len Corzine

Craig

My Dad’s pretty darn competitive. I always remember him telling my oldest daughter, most people tell you, oh we’re here, its ok if you don’t do well, My dad said there is a reason why you keep score, so we’re pretty competitive and it is competitive. We want to win. We don’t leave this driveway unless we have a legitimate shot at winning the event.
