Film critic Chuck Koplinski joins the Morning Show and in this week’s Friday Flicks he is reviewing Paddington 2 and Maze Runner: The Death Cure.
Paddington 2 (Starts Friday) Paddington, now happily settled with the Brown family and a popular member of the local community, picks up a series of odd jobs to buy the perfect present for his Aunt Lucy’s 100th birthday, only for the gift to be stolen.
Rated PG. 103 minutes. AMC-C, AMC-D, SAV.
Maze Runner: The Death Cure. In the third part of the James Dashner series, Thomas (Dylan O’Brien) embarks on a mission to find a cure for a deadly disease known as the “Flare.” Far more compelling than the second part of the series, this film contains some nicely executed set pieces, decent character development and an intriguing plot twist or two. However, the bloated running time hurts it in the end, its flabby, repetitive narrative preventing this from becoming a lean, thrill machine. 2 ½ Stars (Chuck Koplinski) Rated PG-13. 142 minutes. AMC-C, AMC-D, SAV.
