Free Info Session on Popular Plant Based Diet Coming to Decatur Public Library

Be introduced to what the revolutionary Whole Food Plant-Based diet is all about at a free, one-hour informational session being held by an organization called “Positively Plant Based for Life”. The session will be held at the Decatur Public Library on Saturday, April 27th at 2:00 p.m. in the Madden Auditorium. Attendees can expect a slide show presentation, question and answer period and helpful handouts.

Recent research has shown that interest in veganism is soaring, especially among millennials, celebrities and athletes who are powering their diets with more and more vegetables and plant proteins. Some have even called 2019 the “year of the Vegan”.

For those who are tired of the usual diets that don’t work long-term and for those who are just plant based curious, the group provides information about health topics such as heart disease, and diabetes, gives examples and tips of what to eat and how to successfully eat plant based.

“Our organization will present a free presentation to any group in Macon County interested in learning about this powerful and life-enriching diet,” stated Julie Rotz, one of the group’s founding members. “We just want to bring knowledge about healthy, plant based eating to our community. We thought holding a free event at the library would ensure access to all who might be curious.”
