Arthur Cheese Festival: September 3-5

Linda Ingles stops by the studio to discuss the upcoming Arthur Cheese Festival.The festival is Saturday through Monday, Labor day weekend, September 3rd – 5th. Each day is full of a variety of activities that make it hard to choose just one day to go to the festival.

To open the festival each year is our Cheese Cutting Ceremony where the 300 pound wheel is cut – Derik Fabert will once again be emceeing that ceremony at 10:00 am.

Saturday only you can view the car, truck and motorcycle show, participate in the Cheese Curling Championships or Cheese Eating Nationals, or cheer on the Big Cheese Parade, and be entertained by The Henningson’s Saturday evening.

Sunday starts with outdoor church services at 10:00 am. Then Sunday only there will be “Touch a Truck” , a Cheese Carving Contest, Kiddy Tractor Pull and more entertainment.

Monday starts with the 14th Annual Rat Race 5k/10k run. Also featured will be a 5k walk, 1 mile fun run, and the very popular children’s “Cheese Chaser” run. Following their awards ceremony will be the Cheese Festival Bench Press Competition and also “Amish Strong” Strongman competition, the 5th annual National Cheese Curd Spitting Contest, and more live entertainment. Ending out the festival will be the Big Cheese Jackpot Drawing.
