The District is holding its 73rd Annual meeting at the Round Barn Banquet Center on February 3rd. The District will also have a booth at the Midwest Ag Expo on January 25th & 26th.
The Champaign County Soil & Water Conservation District has a big event coming up. Could you tell us a little bit about the event?
The Champaign County Soil & Water Conservation District is holding its 73rd Annual Meeting Friday February 3rd. The Annual Meeting will be at the Round Barn Banquet Center starting at 12.
What goes on at an Annual Meeting for Soil & Water Conservation Districts?
This is the meeting were Board members are elected. The District gets to report to the public on the accomplishments of past year and give out recognition to others that have worked hard to help the District reach its goals.
I believe you also told me earlier that you have a guest speaker at your Annual Meeting, who will that be this year?
Our guest speaker for this year’s Annual Meeting is Kimberlee Kidwell Dean of The University of Illinois college of Aces. She understands the importance of Agriculture. We are hoping she will share her vision for the future the land grant university as it pertains to the Nutrient Loss Reduction Strategy.

What is the Midwest Ag Expo?
The Midwest Ag Expo is a huge Farm Show that takes place at Gordyville. This year we hope to have the office Drone on display. We are hoping to talk to farmers and land owners about using it to capture there conservation efforts on the land this summer.
