CHAMPAIGN (WCIA) — Former Central basketball standout Tim Finke is transferring to Wright State. The 6-foot-6 guard played last season at Grand Canyon, averaging 3.5 points and 2.9 rebounds as a true freshman for the Antelopes.
“Coach Nagy, Coach Cooley and the staff did an incredible job of recruiting me,” Finke said on Thursday afternoon. “Their coaching style and system fit me really well, they have a program that wins.”
Finke played in all 34 games for Grand Canyon before announcing his intent to transfer last month. The former WCIA 3 Boys’ Basketball Player of the Year will have to sit out the upcoming season with three years to play after.
