Hawkeyes beat Illini 2-1 in opening round of Big Ten tournament wild card weekend

CHAMPAIGN (WCIA) — Meike Ingles scored the game winning goal in the 93rd minute for Iowa as the Hawkeyes knocked off host Illinois 2-1 in OT Thursday night in the opening round of the Big Ten tournament wild card weekend.

After getting down 1-0 in the 48th minute, the Illini (6-5-1) evened the match with a goal just five minutes later from Kennedy Berschel but it remained scoreless until the overtime.
