WCIA — For the first time in almost 4 calendar years, the Illinois men’s basketball team beat Ohio State on Saturday by five.
“All in all I think we were better for sure at defending the small lineup. They went big and small. Today we chose to stay big, we played big and it worked out for us,” John Groce said after the game.
“It means a lot, especially with the fan support that we had, that came out. I’m sure there are fans that don’t believe us and those fans that do believe us and we appreciate it,” Malcolm Hill added. “So I mean, lose by 30, lose by 1, it’s just one loss and we still got a lot of games left so. It’s a big time win for us, we can learn from this game because I mean we made plenty of mistakes this game also.”
Illinois has the week off, they will travel to Bloomington, IN on Saturday to take on the Hoosiers.
