WCIA — The Illinois men’s basketball team gets a commitment for next season. Alan Griffin from Archbishop Stepinac in White Plains, New York announced on his Twitter page that he will play for the Illini next season. The 6-foot-5 guard is averaging 18.9 points and 9.8 rebounds per game this season as a senior. There’s currently one open scholarship remaining for the Class of 2018 right now.

The Illinois baseball team got a historic win on Friday afternoon, beating No. 11 UCLA 5-3 in Minneapolis. It’s the first win over a Top 15 ranked team since 2015.

The Illinois softball team swept its first two games at the Coach B Classic in Carbondale on Friday crushing the host Salukis 14-1, while also beating Northern Illinois 10-2.

The Illinois men’s tennis team, ranked ninth in the country, defended its home court taking down TCU 5-2 at Atkins. The No. 5 ranked Illinois women’s tennis team lost to No. 14 Northwestern 4-2.
