“We deserve to be here,” Ilini prepared to fight in round 2

Illini

CHICAGO, Ill. (WCIA) — In March, it doesn’t matter how you get it done, the bottom line is you survive and advance.

The Illini are feeling confident about their overtime win against Northwestern. Giorgi Bezhanishvili and Trent Frazier scored 26 and 21, respecively. It all added up to the first Big 10 Tournament win for the first time since 2016.

“It feels good cause last year we didn’t play in March, we all know that,” says senior Aaron Jordan. “So we kind of came in with a little chip on our shoulder saying, ‘Hey, we deserve to be here, now we’re here, so let’s make a run.'”

“It’s March. You either win or go home and this team’s a fighting team and that’s what we’re going to continue to do and try to get to Sunday,” says sophomore Trent Frazier.
