CHAMPAIGN (WCIA) — The Illini recruiting class shaped up to be top 30 in the nation, but there is still the chance they add another player to that.
There are currently six players signed to the class but with the loss of Leron Black and Michael Finke have left the front court bare. Underwood and his staff are still hot on the recruiting trail to add some depth to the roster.
“I don’t think we’re going to continue to stop recruiting it quite yet but we’d love a front court piece that fits and that can score and do some of the same things that we need to be successful,” Underwood said. “We’ll continue to knock down those doors and see where that ends it, see where that takes us.”
Bryce Golden, a 6’9 forward from Maryland, is scheduled to start his official visit on Thursday. Golden was originally signed with Pittsburgh, but re-opened his commitment when the Panthers made a coaching change.
