WCIA — The Illinois basketball team added one of its top recruiting targets on Tuesday. Four-star wing Tevian Jones verbally committed to play for the Illini, ahead of offers from Arizona, California, Nevada and several others.
The Culver City, California native tweeted out his intentions on Tuesday morning, posting two pictures from his official visit to campus last month. Jones is a Top 150 player nationally, ranked 117th by 247 Sports. The small forward is rated as the 10th best player in California.
Jones is the fifth player to commit to play for Illinois in the 2018 recruiting class, joining Ayo Dosunmu, Alan Griffin, Samba Kane and Giorgi Bezhanishvili. There is one open scholarship remaining in the class right now.
