Strong fourth inning propels Illinois Baseball to series sweep over Penn State

Illini

(WCIA) — Illinois baseball beat Penn State 4-3 at Illinois Field. The Illini finished a three-game sweep to get to .500 in the Big Ten. The Illini put up a strong fourth inning scoring 3 runs.

“I think we did a great job, we hit a little bit of adversity late in the game, and we were able to overcome that, ” says Illinois head coach Dan Hartleb. “Our relievers did a really good job, we had the lead and we were able to extend that from an offensive standpoint, but the bullpen came in and did a great job.”

The Illini will be back on action on Tuesday, April 23rd as they travel to Bradley.
