CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — After two road wins this weekend at Ohio State and at Maryland, the Illinois volleyball team is now 14-1 away from Champaign this season.
Their only loss came in Minneapolis to #3 Minnesota. Head coach Chris Tamas say it’s a testament to their attitude and senior leadership.
“A lot of the emphasis is just making sure when we step into these gyms we’re taking care of business as best as possible,” Tamas said. “We don’t have a lull, we don’t have an off night, ‘we didn’t feel good’, it doesn’t fly. We need to make sure we keep on them in practice and whatever match that we’re playing, whatever matchup we play against that we’re going at any team that we play and I think we showed that this weekend.”
The Illini are back at home this weekend when they host Rutgers and Penn State.
