Resilient Illini still haven’t lost back-to-back games

CHAMPAIGN (WCIA) — Illinois softball has lost seven times this season but never back-to-back times. The Illini (21-7) have found a way to bounce back after losing, and that was on full display last weekend. Wisconsin blasted Illinois in the Big Ten opener, winning by nine runs. The Illini responded winning the next two games to take the series 2-1.

“I think it’s huge,” Illinois head coach Tyra Perry said. “I told the team, in my years when you kind of take a hard loss, take one on the chin, it’s always interesting to see the next day, how your team comes back. So it was great to see my team bounce back, go hard and show toughness.”

Illinois visits Nebraska this weekend for a three-game series starting Friday night at 5:30 p.m.
