WCIA — No Illinois basketball players were selected in the NBA draft for the sixth straight season but two guys with local connections are getting a shot in the NBA. Former Illini standout Kendrick Nunn signed a partially guaranteed deal with the Golden State Warriors late Thursday night, while Danville native Donte Ingram will suit up with the Chicago Bulls in summer league.
Nunn played his redshirt senior season at Oakland, where he was named Horizon League Player of the Year. The Chicago Simeon product averaged 25.9 points per game, second most points in the NCAA.
Ingram played hero for the Ramblers in their Final 4 run through the NCAA tournament. The Danville native hit a game winning deep 3-pointer to beat the buzzer in the opening round against Miami.
