URBANA, Ill. (WCIA) — Illinois softball knows they struggle with their mid-week games. They are 4-1 on the season but all four wins have been close.
Head coach Tyra Perry sees that, and is challenging her team to come out ready to play from the get go.
“We know that the mid-week games, especially against opponents that are in our state, they’re well coached. They’re a lot of great programs. So you can’t take anyone for granted,” Perry said. You have to respect everyone. We know that and we’re working on our fight.”
Illinois is back to Big Ten play this weekend, hosting Minnesota.
