Men’s tennis prepares for No. 2 Ohio State

Illini

(WCIA) — On Sunday afternoon, Illinois Men’s Tennis will face No. 2 Ohio State.

Both teams head into the match with an undefeated conference record. The Illini earned a huge win on Friday night, junior Zeke Clark sealed the deal to make 4-3 for the Illini, but Sunday’s match means even more with the Big Ten regular season title on the line.

“They’re going to be a tough team no matter what, says Junior Aleks Kovacevic. “We actually played them outdoors two years ago, and it was just a really amazing match, we lost 4-3, but it was one of the matches I remembered over my career here, and I kinda expect the same kinda atmosphere.”

“We’re trying to put together an opportunity for our guys to be a host site for the NCAA championships, that’s why we have to take it one match at a time,” says head coach Brad Dancer.

The Illini will face the Buckeyes at 12 p.m. CT at Atkins Tennis Center on Sunday, April 13th.
