Illini set tone in first round of NCAA Regionals


CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — Illinois men’s golf picked up right where they left off a the Big Ten championship, firing a -9 team score on Monday to take the lead at the NCAA Regional.

Illinois is five shots clear of Ohio State, with Wake Forest and Florida State seven shots back.

Illini freshman Adrien Dumont de Chassart is the individual leader at -5, Michael Feagles is tied for 2nd at -4. Urbana native Varun Chopra and Giovanni Tadiotto each shot even par. While freshman Tommy Kuhl took the place of Bryan Baumgarten in the lineup, he shot +2.

Round two starts Tuesday morning at 6:30 a.m.
