CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — Illinois won the Big Ten title for the first time since 2012 last season, can they make it two in a row?
The Illini were picked to win the conference in the preseason but ended the year towards the bottom of the standings. This weekend they want to prove their better than the standings show.
“This season has definetly had it’s ups and downs, couple of high points, couple of pretty low points,” freshman Michael Fletcher said. “But I think this team is something that is really special, and I think we can do reall well in the post season this year, and I’m really excited to see what happens.”
“It’s a little bit more intense, just alot more pressure in the gym, routines matter alot more, but you know I’m just trying to go out with as many victories as a I can as an Illini,” senior Alex Diab said.
The championships start Friday and finish on Saturday.
