Illini men’s tennis remains unbeaten in Big Ten play

URBANA, Ill. (WCIA) — Illinois men’s tennis won their 4th match in a row on Sunday, remaining perfect in the Big Ten season with a win over Iowa.

The Illini won the doubles points. Then Keenan Mayo, Aleks Kovacevic, Zeke Clark, and Noe Khlif won in singles to take the 5-1 win.

Clark was down 5-2 in his second set. He went on to win the set 7-6 and clinch the match.

That’s just kind of my style, I fight for every point and regardless of the score I’m going to do what I can, Clark said. So 5-2 I’m trying not to think about the score I’m just trying to keep playing my game and was able to fight back and get that second set.

We’re always thinking man we can do some things better and so forth, head coach Brad Dancer said. I think we got a laundry list of a lot of things we can do but it was great to be back home and get a good week of practice in and now we have a little bit of a flow to the Big Ten season now. Everything is on the weekend. For me it’s just great to be back home.

Illinois travels Michigan State and Michigan this weekend.
