Illini back to .500 in conference

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — After a slow start to the Big Ten schedule, the Illini are back to an even 6-6 in conference after a sweep of Penn State.

Illinois won all three games by one run, something head coach Dan Hartleb hopes gives the team some momentum.

“Well it was important this weekend to get ourselves back to .500 in the conference. Any time you win a series it’s really big, but to sweep one is very difficult,” Hartleb said. “Our guys did a great job. We battled and found a way to come out victorious in three one run games.”

Illinois has a mid-week game at Bradley on Tuesday.
