Frazier awarded B1G Freshman of the Week

CHAMPAIGN (WCIA) — After scoring a career high 32 points on Thursday against Wisconsin, Illini freshman Trent Frazier was named Big Ten freshman of the week for the second time this season.

The 32 points is the most scored by any freshman in the Big Ten this season.

He only scored 6 points in the loss to Penn State on Sunday though. Illinois as a team only score 16 in the second half total.

“I wish we could eliminate halftimes,” Brad Underwood said. “I don’t know. We didn’t run anything. We jogged cuts. And we’re a team right now that one mistake and we just hang our heads and it affects the next play.”

“Taking tough shots when we just got to get into spread quicker,” Leron Black added. “When they was sitting in that little press they was in, by the time we got the ball across halfcourt there was 10 seconds left on the clock so we didn’t really have much time to run spread.”

Illinois is on the road Wednesday night to take on Indiana.
