WCIA — Former Illinois basketball player D.J. Williams is transferring to George Washington.  The Simeon product tweeted his intentions Wednesday afternoon, after spending the first two years of his career at Illinois.

Williams averaged just 2.3 points per game last season for the Illini, appearing in 17 games.  That’s down from his freshman year that saw him play in 29 games.  Per NCAA transfer rules, Williams will have to sit out the upcoming 2017-18 season.  George Washington plays in the Atlantic 10 conference, posting a 20-15 record last season.
