CHAMPAIGN (WCIA) — Sometimes all it takes is one win to turn around a team’s morale and that’s exactly what Illinois head coach Brad Underwood happens to his squad after picking up their first Big Ten win of the season. The Illini (5-12, 1-5 B1G) upset Minnesota (13-4, 3-3 B1G) on Wednesday night, snapping a season high five game losing streak.
“I’m so happy for that locker room, because it’s been guys that, they know they’re good players, and they know that at some point they’re going to win,” Underwood said. “But winning is really, really hard. And now we have to do the next thing, which is get better tomorrow, show up to practice, and have a good positive feeling.”
Illinois returns to the court Sunday for a noon tip at Iowa.
