Big weekend set for Illinois volleyball

Illini

CHAMPAIGN (WCIA) — It’s a big weekend for the Illinois volleyball team as they welcome No. 12 Wisconsin to Huff Hall Friday night at 6 p.m. before facing No. 7 Minnesota Saturday night at 7 p.m. The Illini (18-9, 9-7 B1G) don’t have any ‘bad’ losses this season but also don’t have any marquee wins that would help their NCAA tournament resume.

“Eventually to beat these Top 25 teams or just a lot of the teams in the Big Ten in general, everyone has to be on their ‘A-game,'” Illinois junior setter Jordyn Poulter said.

“Overall I’ve been very pleased with how we’ve been playing throughout the whole season so we’ve taken care of business where we’ve had to,” Illinois head coach Chris Tamas said. “It would be nice to get a marquee win as we would say but again it’s how we play every game and how we approach everyday at practice.”
