WCIA — The Teutopolis baseball team knows Peoria well. The Shoes have played in River City, the site of the Class 1A/2A state finals, five out of the last eight years. Teutopolis won back-to-back championships in 2010 and 2011 and has finished third two times since but this year’s team is eyeing another state title.
“We’re going to get ready for the state tournament and get ready to head up there and try to win the big one,” Teutopolis head coach Justin Fleener said.
“Nothing else you can really feel besides pumped up, adrenaline pumping,” Teutopolis senior Brock Bueker said. “It feels awesome. We ain’t done though yet, we’re going to win it. We ain’t done.”
The Wooden Shoes will put their 18-game winning streak on the line when they take on Orion Friday afternoon at 5 p.m. at Dozer Park in Peoria.
