CHAMPAIGN (WCIA) — Team chemistry is a big focus for Centennial football heading into LeKevie Johnson’s fourth season. So far, so good say the Chargers, who are trying to improve upon last year’s 2-7 record.
“Team chemistry is huge,” Johnson said. “I think that is probably going to be the catalyst for this group. They’re learned to just work well together. That’s critical when you’re playing the game of football.”
“We’re just trying to leave a legacy here,” Centennial senior Tyson Burton said. “Like I said, a lot of leadership, good comradery. (We’re) making sure that the younger guys know what they’re doing and are following by example.”
Centennial opens the season at Peoria High on Aug. 24th.
