STM volleyball looks for title, revenge

HOOPESTON (WCIA) — The St. Thomas More volleyball team has only lost three matches all season. One of those was to Tri-Valley in the second match of the season, so it only seems fitting the Sabers will get another shot at the Vikings in the Class 2A Hoopeston Area Sectional Final Wednesday night.

“We’re kind of the underdogs I think in this,” St. Thomas More head coach Stan Bergman said. “They’re the ones that have the win against us and they can claim that. They’re the top seed in the bracket at this point, so we’ve just got to go out and play loose and have fun.”

“We’re looking forward to pulling out a win,” St. Thomas More junior outside hitter Kayla Brandon said. “We’ve made it farther than we did last year. So it’s good. I think Wednesday is looking good as long as we can just play our game.”
