DANVILLE — After 12 years as Danville football coach, B.J. Luke is ready to hand over the program to someone else.  The Danville native resigned over the weekend, wanting to spend more time with his family.  The 62-year old finishes his tenure with the Vikings with a 73-51 record, including seven playoff appearances.

“It’s very special to be able to walk out through the tunnel and coach the kids here in front of my hometown people and have the success that we’ve had,” Luke said.  “It’s been probably the highlight of my coaching career that’s 40 years and the last 12 here at Danville, it’s been a lot of fun for me.”
