Houpt resigns at Danville

DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — After seven seasons at the helm, Ted Houpt resigned as Danville boys basketball coach on Monday.

He won 114 games in his seven seasons, with 79 of them coming in the last three years.

The Vikings won regional titles in two of the last three seasons. The championship in 2017 was their first regional since 2001.

Danville returns four of their five starters from the 2019 squad.

Houpt will remain with Danville in his teaching role.
