FISHER (WCIA) — The Fisher football team is making history. The Bunnies won just their second playoff game in program history, and first since 2005, beating Cumberland 48-15 Saturday afternoon.
“Just really excited for our kids,” Fisher head coach Jake Palmer said. “You know we’ve spent a lot of time working to get to this point. Two years ago in my first year being 1-8 to be at a point now, where not just winning a playoff game but doing so in decisive fashion was something that was really important to our kids and also to our community.”
The win also tied the program record for victories in a season at eight. Now the team advances to face No. 1 seed and undefeated Argenta-Oreana.
“It doesn’t matter what your record was in the season, it doesn’t matter, any of that,” Fisher junior running back Tyler Wilson said. “So each team is 0-0, we go in and do what we’ve got to do to get the win.”
Fisher visits A-O Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m.
