WATSEKA, Ill. (WCIA) — In year three for head coach Aaron Hilgendorf, the players knowledge of the system will be key for another postseason run.
“We’re at a good place I feel like on our staff and where the kids are in the program. We always talk about having the system, having the entire system in and then we pick and pull out what our kids do well instead of changing,” Hilgendorf said. “I think a misconception is ‘do what your kids do well’, that’s pretty obvious but you have it already built in so when you need the answer you have it built in to what your system is defensively and offensively.”
Watseka beat Oakwood 20-14 on Friday. They now host Salt Fork in week two.
