Experience key for Teutopolis heading back to state

SAUGET (WCIA) — Teutopolis baseball is no stranger at the state tournament and the Shoes are hoping to use that to their advantage this weekend in Peoria. The program is making its sixth appearance in the last nine years, including last season’s state championship. The Shoes have 11 seniors and four juniors who will lead the way.

“Definitely with our pitching staff, definitely with them being seniors and winning it last year, I think we definitely know what the pressure feels like and I think we’re ready for it,” Teutopolis senior pitcher Cody Jansen said.

Teutopolis (29-6) plays Herscher Friday at 3 p.m. at Dozer Park in Peoria.
