ARGENTA (WCIA) — All things considered, Steve Kirk couldn’t have asked for a better first season at Argenta-Oreana. The Bombers won the Little Okaw Valley Northwest title, finishing the year with a 9-2 record. Now in Year 2 under Kirk, the bar has been raised.
“It allows us not to start from square one, number one,” Kirk said about the biggest change coming into this season. “So we can kind of pick up where we left off last year and kind of move forward. There’s no reteaching, we just move forward and see what happens come August 24th.”
“We have a lot of competitors,” Makhi Stanley said. “Everyone’s always fighting for positions. Everyone is always working hard and I think that gives us a little edge over everybody else.”
“Our skills players this year, I think every single skills player on offense is a senior coming back from last year, all but one,” Argenta-Oreana senior receiver Garrett Gloede said. ” I think we can really use all four to drive down the field.”
A-O opens the seasaon at Robinson on Friday night.
